Trainee teacher NQT data request.

We're waiting for Luke Jacob to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Warwickshire College,

I am writing to make an Open Government request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my query as specifically as possible. If, however, this request is too wide or unclear, I would be grateful if you could contact me as I understand that under the Act, you are required to advise and assist those who request information from you.

Firstly, from your most recent complete cohort data, how many teacher trainees successfully completed their training?

Secondly, how many of those same trainees were on an NQT placement at the end of their training, compared with how many were not employed (by a school full time) at the end of their training.

Lastly, How many of those same trainees were employed through a supply agency?

I understand that under the Act, I am entitled to a response within 20 working days. I would be grateful if you could confirm by email that you have received this request. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Yours faithfully,

Luke Jacob

Dear Mr Jacob
Further to my previous email, please find the College's responses to your
request for information below:
1. from your most recent complete cohort data, how many teacher trainees
successfully completed their training?
Warwickshire College Group is a general further education college that
offers an in-service teacher training programme to employed staff.  The
course is the Diploma in Education and Training (DET) and almost all
trainees on the programme were employed by Warwickshire College Group and
only a couple of others were employed by other training providers.
Trainees may not join the DET unless they are employed to teach in a
post-16 setting with at least 100 hours of teaching. In 2016, there were
13 trainees who passed their DET.
2. how many of those same trainees were on an NQT placement at the end of
their training, compared with how many were not employed (by a school full
time) at the end of their training.
This question does not apply to Warwickshire College Group as we are not a
school and do not have NQT placements at the end of our DET.

3. how many of those same trainees were employed through a supply agency?
This question does not apply to Warwickshire College Group as all the
trainees are employed when they join the DET course and therefore all were
employed by either the College or another provider.
As required by the Act I have attached the College's information rights
Appeal Procedure in the event that you are not satisfied with the way in
which the College dealt with your request or you are not satisfied with
the College's response.
Yours sincerely
