Subject: Freedom of Information request - Trainee teacher NQT data request.

Dear Brockenhurst College,

I am writing to make an Open Government request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my query as specifically as possible. If, however, this request is too wide or unclear, I would be grateful if you could contact me as I understand that under the Act, you are required to advise and assist those who request information from you.

Firstly, from your most recent complete cohort data, how many teacher trainees successfully completed their training?

Secondly, how many of those same trainees were on an NQT placement at the end of their training, compared with how many were not employed (by a school full time) at the end of their training.

Lastly, How many of those same trainees were employed through a supply agency?

I understand that under the Act, I am entitled to a response within 20 working days. I would be grateful if you could confirm by email that you have received this request. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Further to your email freedom of information request dated 30 March 2017
regard Brockenhurst  College’s Teacher Trainees, please see our response
below:

Firstly, from your most recent complete cohort data, how many teacher
trainees successfully completed their training? – 8/10 who were due to
complete their Diploma in Education and Training by July 2016 have
completed so far.  The other two are ongoing – they are both employed full
time in FE and are being supported to complete.

Secondly, how many of those same trainees were on an NQT placement at the
end of their training, compared with how many were not employed (by a
school full time) at the end of their training. – All 10 were ‘in-service’
trainees.  8 are working in the Adult and FE sectors, one in special
Education, one for the NHS.  One has left FE and is now working in a
school and plans to apply for QTLS.  The rest continue to work for their
original employees.

Lastly, How many of those same trainees were employed through a supply
agency? – None were employed through a Supply Agency
