Toxic Policing of Vigil

Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime did not have the information requested.

Dear Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime,

I am writing this request because I feel the policing that was witnessed at Clapham Common Band Stand is toxic, lacks empathy, lacks intelligence, and undermines public trust.

Can you provide me with:

1. The hazard risk assessment that would have been carried out by the police for the vigil in Clapham common for Sarah Everard.

2. The hazard risk assessment for cancelling the organization of this event.

3. The hazard risk assessment for the event if it went ahead in an unofficial capacity. In other words women being so understandably upset that they would be determined to show solidarity and would go to Clapham Common (this would be predictable and I would expect the police to have anticipated this).

Please confirm if any of the above Hazard risk assessments were carried out and provide details.

Can you also please confirm whether a senior officer over-ruled progress with the organizers which prevented the management of this event and a safe outlet for the emotion of women who feel vulnerable, angry and upset.

Yours faithfully,

j mclean
