Total number of orphaned UK onshore oil and gas wells

Mae'r ymateb i'r cais hwn yn hwyr iawn. Yn ôl y gyfraith, ym mhob amgylchiad, dylai Environment Agency fod wedi ymateb erbyn hyn. (manylion). Gallwch gwyno drwy yn gofyn am adolygiad mewnol.

Dear Environment Agency,

Please treat this email as a request for information under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, alternatively the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please ignore my foir request on this subject from earlier today. I’ve added to the final paragraph to clarify the information I am requesting.

Please advise the total number of known orphaned onshore oil and gas wells in the UK.

I consider the definition of an orphaned well to be a well bore that has been abandoned, but not plugged in accordance with a planning condition or decommissioning agreement and is not subject to any environmental monitoring by the Petroleum Licensee, the Environment Agency, Health and Safety Executive or the OGA.

Yours faithfully,

Benjamin Dean
