Tier1 General ILR query

We're waiting for I ahmed to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Home Office,

Dear sir,

Based on immigration rules

"245CD-SD Specified documents".

Q1. If some one got 2 jobs do they need a letter from both of these employers to evidence there absences from the uk or just one is enough to satisfy the requirement.

Q2. If one has got 2 jobs and both are salaried jobs and he takes paid annual leave from one job and same days of unpaid leave from the other job to travel outside. Will he break his "continuous period of 5 years lawfully in the UK" or not. Although he is getting paid fully from the first job while outside the uk and the other is unpaid.

Q3. Do marriage, Birth of a child and accident of a close family memeber and travelling outside uk to visit the injured family member comes under " compelling and compassionate reason ". If yes what sort of evidence home office is looking for these absences.

Please reply to my query as there is no clear information if someone got 2 salaried jobs.

Yours faithfully,
I ahmed

The Home Office seem to have sent a file with a name ending “.doc” that's actually a PDF file, which makes it a little difficult to open. Here's the significant text:

“Thank you for your e-mail correspondence of 27 March, about applications for settlement under Tier 1 (General).

“You are required to provide a letter from an employer that states the periods you have spent outside of the United Kingdom linked to your employment, including paid annual leave. If you have had two or more employers simultaneously during your qualifying period for settlement, you are required to provide letters from each employer detailing your absences. Unpaid leave from employment would be looked at by the caseworker considering the specific circumstances of your case.

“The same case by case consideration would apply to absences as a result of compelling or compassionate reasons. You would need to provide a personal letter with your application including full details of the reason for the absences and original supporting documents in relation to those reasons. The types of documents required will depend on the reason you were absent from the United Kingdom but may include medical certificates or birth/death certificates for example.”
