Thank you for your request for information of 30/05/2023, which has been
processed under the terms of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act
2002. Unfortunately, the Council is only able to meet part of your request
and this information is released to you below. I shall address each of
your questions in turn.
You asked the following:

Q1. To request copies of all local authority research evidence which led
to the release of above Council Leader statement.
A1. The evidence base would be from the following:
• Festivals Edinburgh – Impact Studies:

There is another one due to be published shortly.
• Edinburgh’s People’s Survey – The latest survey from 2018 is published
on the Council website at:

• Also attached is the Winter Festival Consultation report from 2021
which included details of the employment/social benefits (pages 11, 31
to 33 and 105). This report also went to Committee.
Q2. To request letters of communication between Council Leader and
Scottish Government related to funding contributing to wellbeing and
enjoyment of residents.
A2. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with the information
requested because it is not held by the Council.
There is no such letter held, specifically relating to funding
contributing to the wellbeing and enjoyment of residents.
