The Meaning of 'YOUR COUNCIL'

The request was successful.

Dear Cheshire West and Chester Council,

The slogan 'YOUR COUNCIL' appears on council vehicles.

I assume that this means that the council is mine, works for me etc.

Is my assumption correct?

Could you elucidate exactly what the council means by the words 'YOUR COUNCIL'?

Could you tell me who decided to paint this on council vehicle?

Could you tell me what date the decision was taken?

What was the decision making process/procedure used to discuss the slogan and to decide that this was an appropriate slogan?

Could I have a copy of the documents, minutes of meetings and any other paperwork generated in the making of the decision to paint 'YOUR COUNCIL on council vehicles?

Please attach the documents to your reply to this request.

Yours faithfully,

jay

Response

‘Your Council’ was part of the branding decisions that were made to ensure
there was clarity for residents between Cheshire East and Cheshire West
and Chester councils following local government reorganisation in 2009.
It was used to highlight to residents that Cheshire West and Chester was
the new Council that would cover their area.

The brand development was part of a wider creative solution. This wording
has been used alongside the Council logo on a number of marketing and
communication channels since 2009 including some Council vehicles, which
you refer to. Following extensive searches we do not hold records of any
discussions, documents, minutes of meetings or any other paperwork that
formed this approach.

We trust this answers your query.
