The Dream - Illumination

The request was successful.

Dear St Helens Metropolitan Borough Council,

When The Dream at Sutton Manor was proposed it was intended that a light would be emitted from the top of the statue into the night sky. This would have been in keeping with the town motto "ex terra lucem" from the earth came light.

1. Can you please provide me with any images, artists impression or otherwise that might exist of how this would have looked from reports and other documents at that time.

2. it is my understanding that the intention to illuminate as per my first paragraph was refused planning permission. Can you confirm which authority, Civil Aviation Authotity, Highways Agency, or others that advised that you cold not carry out this illumination.

3. Please provide me with report, or documentary evidence supplied by the organsaition(s) who refused the plans to illuminate the Dream in such a way.

Yours faithfully,

mike ashworth
