The Crescent - hidden costs

The request was refused by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council.

Dear Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council,

1) In FoI 3138 (Nov 2015) I see that you have confirmed that no monies or dispensations have been offered to Sainsburys. Is this still the case? Is there any discussion suggesting that this could arise in the future?

2) At 31/03/2015 the Masterplan Reserve was £1.626m. Please provide a breakdown of what this figure was intended to cover.

Yours faithfully,

J Newman

Jo McLaren, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council

Dear Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'The Crescent - hidden costs'.

Thank you for the information, but question 2 has not been addressed. It specifically asks for a breakdown.

In an accounting sense reserves/provisions cannot be approved unless there is some substantiation for them. £1.626m is a very precise figure so to repeat, please provide a breakdown of what this figure was intended to cover.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...

Yours faithfully,

J Newman

Thank you for the information, but question 2 has not been addressed. It
specifically asks for a breakdown. In an accounting sense

breakdown of what this figure was intended to cover.

Our response:

The £1.626m figure is our Masterplan reserve. Funds are set aside from
this to facilitate future development, with monies earmarked once schemes
have been approved. Currently from the £1.6m balance £1.3m has been
earmarked for the Crescent (Block C) development.
