Querying your scheme's 2009/10 Pension Protection levy invoice

If you are contacting us in respect of your scheme's 2009/10 Pension
Protection levy invoice, a specific query must be raised within 28 days of
the date of the invoice. This 28 day deadline will be strictly applied.

If you wish to query or raise an appeal in respect of a company failure
score shown on your scheme's invoice, you should contact D&B's dedicated
Pension Protection Fund helpline on 0870 850 6209, or by emailing
[2][email address] (quoting - `PPF related query'). Please note that
if you didn't successfully appeal your failure score within 28 days of
receiving your 2008/09 invoice, you will not be allowed to appeal your
score when you receive your 2009/10 invoice.

Dear Mr Bimbi,

Thank you for your Email of 30 December 2009. We are considering your
request for information under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act
2000, which came into force on 1 January 2005.

As a public body, the Pension Protection Fund must comply with the Freedom
of Information Act and will disclose information wherever possible.

To facilitate access to information the Pension Protection Fund has placed
its publication scheme on the website

this sets out the information which we will publish as a matter of course;
however, under the Pensions Act 2004 we are specifically prohibited from
publishing certain types of information and where information requested
falls outside the publication scheme and the normal range of enquiries
received we will treat it as a Freedom of Information Act request.

The Freedom of Information Act requires that written requests for
information should be responded to within 20 business days. Wherever
possible we will respond in advance of this deadline but at the latest we
will respond to your request on 28 January 2010.

If any of the information requested is held by us but it is decided that
it is not disclosable under the Freedom of Information Act we will explain
why we have reached this conclusion (except where the Act prohibits a
public body disclosing that it holds the data requested) and will advise
you that you may appeal the decision. Appeals are heard by an Executive
Director who has not been involved in considering the initial request for
information and a response to an appeal will be provided within 20
business days of receipt. If, following such an appeal, you are still not
satisfied; you have the right to appeal to the Information Commissioner
under Section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
