Dear Lewes District Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Lewes District Council's handling of my FOI request 'Temporary accommodation'.

This is due to the fact I submitted my request on the 28th of September and have still not had a reply, which is unlawful.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...

Yours faithfully,

Dear Ms. Wilson,

Thank you for your information request dated 28 September 2020 received in
our office the same day.

1. How many individuals were placed in emergency accommodation provided by
Lewes District council from 2015 - 2020.

2. How many families were placed in emergency accommodation provided by
Lewes District council from 2015 - 2020.

3. How many families were placed in temporary accommodation provided by
Lewes District Council from 2015 - 2020.

5. What is the average length of time that individuals/ families spent in
temporary accommodation before successfully receiving an offer of

Firstly, I must apologise for the extreme delay in responding which is due
to the extraordinary workloads placed on our departments by the pandemic.
We hope to improve efficiency as soon as we are able.

I have carefully considered your request and investigated whether there is
any additional information available that is not already publicly
available.

I have been informed that that the information you have requested is
already publicly available, and therefore under the Freedom of Information
Act (2000), Section 21 (information accessible to applicant by other
means) this information is exempt from requiring further action in order
to make it accessible to you and the general public.

The above exemption specifies that where information is already reasonably
accessible to the applicant there is no duty for the local authority to
provide any additional copy of the material. This may include information
for which a charge applies.

This exemption also requires the local authority to inform you where this
information is available from and how to access it. The details of how to
obtain it are provided in the link below:

[1]https://www.gov.uk/government/statistica....

All information has been passed to central government for publication on
the above website. As your request is for five years information I would
also further point out the Council migrated to a new central system (CX
Housing) in 2018 and does not retain any information prior to that.

All applicants have a 'right of appeal'.  An appeal should be focused on
the original request and should identify how the council’s response failed
to answer your information request.  Appeals must be made in writing (or
e-mail) within 40 working days of receipt of this response and addressed
to the Information Governance Appeals Officer, to the address below.
