Dear West Mercia Police,
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request data regarding the number of scam reports received.
- Can I please receive each total individually for the time period of 01/04/2019 - 31/03/2020
- Could this be specific to those recorded within the boundaries of Telford
Can I please receive a count of reported:
1) Scam emails
2) Scam phone calls
3) Scam text messages

I write in connection with your request for information which was received
on 2^nd July 2020. Your request will now be considered in accordance with
the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the Act”).

The information above has been obtained by searches conducted for the
keyword of “scam” in Incident Details and Text fields, therefore please be
aware that this may not be completely accurate as there could be other
incidents with different keywords. However, to search all incidents
recorded within the boundaries of Telford for the dates requested, and to
manually review each one for relevance, would be above the amount to which
we are legally required to respond i.e. the cost of locating and
retrieving the information exceeds the ‘appropriate level’ as stated in
