The Trust received a Freedom of Information Act 2000 request from you
dated 1^st April regarding Patient Transport. The information has been
listed below:-

Taxis

1. Who currently provides the Trust’s taxi service? Taxis are booked
through the Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust, via their switchboard, and the
costs recharged to the Trust. Further information regarding who provides
the Taxi service need to be sought directly from Worcestershire Acute NHS
Trust.

2. What is the Trust’s annual spend on all taxi services? Known spend
on taxis for this Trust in 2010/11 was £28,000.

3. Who is responsible for managing this service and what are their
phone, email and postal contact details? There is no specific manager for
this small area of service. The following manages the overall contract
with the Acute Trust.

4. How do you advertise this service for competitive tender, when did
this last take place and when will it next be undertaken? The
Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust would be the organisation that
competitively tenders these contracts if applicable. Any information on
timescales etc would need to be sought from Worcestershire Acute NHS
Trust.

PTS

1. Who currently provides the Trust’s PTS service? Service is
currently provided by West Midlands Ambulance Trust

2. What is the Trust’s annual spend on PTS? Cost to this Trust in
2010/11 was £309,000

3. Who is responsible for managing this service and what are their
phone, email and postal contact details?

4. How do you advertise this service for competitive tender, when did
this last take place and when will it next be undertaken? The service was
advertised nationally and tendered by HPC (Healthcare Purchasing
Consortium) on behalf of all 3 provider trusts in Worcestershire. The new
contract commenced on 1^st April 2009 and is a 5 year contract.
