Good morning,

Thank you for your recent request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and please see the Trust’s response below and attached:

Q1: Attached
Q2: This would constitute opinion and is thus not subject to an FOI request
Q3: If we are unable to fill specialling shifts with our own bank staff we send the unfilled shifts (if we have the correct authorisation) to our approved list of agencies to fill.
Q4: Each ward/area are responsible for requesting specialling shifts through the staff bank office, if we are unable to fill the shifts with bank staff appropriate authorisation needs to be sort as per policy to send the shift to agencies to fill.
Q4b: Staff Bank Manager, Anne Marie Greger
Q5: As this is an Acute Hospital, every day there are patients that are requiring 1:1 care
Q6: We don’t record the information by reason of request on the ledger. We estimate based on Bank/Agency internal reporting that Specialling accounted for £76,010.75 spend per month over the last 3 months. Campion Ward and Chadwick Ward have specialling included in their substantive staff costs which could not be split out and included in this figure.
