Dear Michelle,

Thank you for your request, dated 6 July 2018, made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

You requested information about

"Students with visual impairments"

Cranfield University has now completed its search for the information requested and can confirm that we do hold information. Please see our response below.

The information provided below is for the academic year 2017/18.

1. The number of registered students with a visual impairment:
The number of students is fewer than 5. The University considers that in view of the small numbers the precise number is exempt under Section 40(2) - Personal Information of FOIA.
To release the precise number might allow students to be identified and contravene data protection legislation.

No information held. The University does highlight free software to students at the start of the year but we do not log if they use it or not.
3. The number of students with visual impairments that are screen reader users:
No information held. The University does highlight free software to students at the start of the year but we do not log if they use it or not.
4. The total number of students:
2920
