Please could you provide the following information for the current academic year (2017-2018):
The number of registered students with a visual impairment
The number of students are text to speech users
The number of students are screen reader users
The total number of students

Good morning Beth,

Section 8 (1) (b) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 states that a request must state the name of the applicant. Without this, a request is not deemed to be valid under the Act and we are therefore unable to process it.

I am writing in response to your request under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000. Please see the answers to your questions below.

 

Please could you provide the following information for the current
academic year (2017-2018):

 

The number of registered students with a visual impairment

We have 72 students registered with our Disability Advisory and Support
Service (DASS) who are blind or partially sighted.

 

The number of students are text to speech users

We have text to speech software on all managed desktops. However, we
cannot report on how many people are using this as this is not recorded.

 

The number of students are screen reader users

Screen reader software (the Narrator) is available on all Windows
machines; again we can’t report on who is using this as we do not record
this data.

 

The total number of students

40349
