Dear Naomi,

In response to your request for information I can confirm that we do hold the information you have requested, and our responses are below.

1. How many students have been evicted from student accommodation from 2017, 2018 and 2019?

2017 19
2018 6
2019 14

2. What was the reason for each eviction in 2017, 2018 and 2019?

We are unable to disclose the exact reason for each case, as this will make the individual identifiable, and this will result in a breach of personal information as outlined in Section 40 of the FOIA 2000. We are unable to supply the exact figures due to the small numbers, as by releasing such information we increase the likelihood of individuals being identified, which breach data protection regulations as these individuals would have a reasonable expectation that their personal data will not be released. We recognise that from the information provided here alone, it would potentially be difficult to identify the individuals concerned. But as each case differs, it does make them identifiable. Nevertheless, under the remits of data protection regulations, we note that personal data constitutes that from which the Data Controller can identify an individual. Therefore there may be other information which you could obtain from the University, either through further Freedom of Information requests or other means, that could be used to identify the individuals here. Should an individual be identified then the University would be in breach of data protection regulations. However, we are able to confirm that all cases are due to the fact the Student breached the terms of the Code of Discipline, ,these can be located here: https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/studentserv...

3. What is the notice period to leave the accommodation?
The usual notice period is 7 days, however, in exceptional circumstances, i.e. Safeguarding concerns etc. then this could be with immediate effect. Each student signs a Licence Agreement when being allocated Student Accommodation, and this is included in the terms and conditions.

I trust this meets your requirements, if not please contact me again.

If you are unhappy with the way in which your request has been handled and wish to request a review of our response or to make a complaint, please see the attached information sheet and form.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any enquiries regarding this email.

Yours sincerely
