Status of cycle link from Monsal Trail to Buxton Town Centre
Dear Peak District National Park Authority,
In 2011 plans were drawn up and published for a cycle link between Monsal Trail and Buxton, via Woo Dale.
Ultimately these were not progressed, and no progress has been made since (at least to public knowledge). What is the current status of Derbyshire County Council and the Peak District National Park's aim to connect this trail into Buxton and complete the "White Peak Loop"? What barriers are preventing the completion of the planned link, and if it has had to be abandoned completely, what ideas is the Peak District National Park looking at for alternative routes?
Yours faithfully,
A. Sheridan

Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your request for information* which we received on 2^nd
July. I have considered your request under the Environmental Information
Regulations 2004.
Derbyshire County Council (DCC) had proposed a suggested route as part of
the White Peak Loop project, for which they had received funding. We are
not aware of any active plans regarding the route to which you refer, but
understand that DCC have not backfilled the post vacated by the previous
project officer, which may have had some impact on the proposals.
PDNPA is not currently looking at creating the proposed route or
alternative routes as DCC received the funding for the development of the
White Peak Loop.
More information on the White Peak Loop is published on DCC’s website,
please refer to:

them. Please contact: [3][email address]

further queries please contact me quoting the reference number at the top
of the correspondence.
If you are unhappy with the way in which we have handled your request, you
have a right to an internal review through our complaints procedure.
