Statistics Regarding MBChB Year 4 Examination Results for July 2022

Dear University of Dundee,

I would appreciate further information regarding the recent 2021/2022 final examinations for Y4 MBChB.

Can you please confirm the following?

1) The highest and lowest percentage marks obtained by individuals in the online MCQ component of the final examinations.
2) The absolute number and percentage of students who attained an A1 grade in the online MCQ component of the final examinations.
3) The absolute number and percentage of students who attained an "A" grade (i.e. A1, A2, A3, A4, A5) in the online MCQ component of the final examinations.
4) The absolute number and percentage of students who failed (i.e. M1 or lower) the online MCQ component of the examinations.
5) The absolute number and percentage of students who failed (i.e. M1 or lower) the OSCE component of the examinations.
6) The absolute number and percentage of students who failed (i.e. M1 or lower) both the online and OSCE component of the examinations.

Many thanks for you request for information. 

Results recorded in the student system are at modular level using
our [1]Assessment scales, and not the actual percentage marks for
students. We therefore cannot answer question 1, please treat this as
information not held under S17 of FOISA. Please note for numbers under 5
we use <5 to avoid the inadvertent release of personal data. 

 

There are 2 modules that students in year 4 of the Medicine MBChB course
have taken in 2021/2-

                MS40000 – PiP Online Exam (we have used data relating to
this module for the online MCQ component)

                MS40102 - PiP OSCE Part 1 (we have used data relating to
this module for the OSCE component)

 

1)The highest and lowest percentage marks obtained by individuals in the
online MCQ component of the final examinations.
2) The absolute number and percentage of students who attained an A1 grade
in the online MCQ component of the final examinations. <5, <5%
3) The absolute number and percentage of students who attained an "A"
grade (i.e. A1, A2, A3, A4, A5) in the online MCQ component of the final
examinations. 34, 18.6%
4) The absolute number and percentage of students who failed (i.e. M1 or
lower) the online MCQ component of the examinations. 17, 9.3%
5) The absolute number and percentage of students who failed (i.e. M1 or
lower) the OSCE component of the examinations. 5, 2.7%
6) The absolute number and percentage of students who failed (i.e. M1 or
lower) both the online and OSCE component of the examinations. <5, <5%

 

Please note that we have not included ScotGEM students in the above
figures, as Year 4 is their final year.  If you would like these included,
please let me know.
