Statistics on train delays - Uddingston to Glasgow Central

Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear Network Rail Limited,

Can you please provide me with detailed statistics on the number of trains which have been delayed or cancelled from Uddingston to Glasgow Central during peak times over the last year, along with reasons for these delays and cancellations?

Can you also provide information on the reason why the trains which run from Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow through Uddingston are often so over crowded that passengers cannot board and if any plans are in place to improve this situation?

Yours faithfully,
H Gunn

Dear Mr Bendall

Please find answers to your questions below;
Please can you confirm what you define as a ‘peak time’ train?
- Weekday mornings from 7 to 9am and early evening from 4 to 6pm
- Weekends and public holidays all day

 Please can you confirm whether you are only seeking information on trains which are
travelling from Uddingston to Glasgow Central (as opposed to trains travelling from
Glasgow Central to Uddingston)?
- Both directions

Please can you confirm whether you are only seeking information on the number of
trains which experienced a delay or cancellation on the section of the line between
Uddingston and Glasgow Central? For example, should we exclude any trains which
were delayed or cancelled before they reached Uddingston?
-Please also include trains which were delayed or cancelled before they reached Uddingston

Yours sincerely,

Hannah Gunn

Information request

Thank you for your most recent email of 5th December 2017. I can confirm that your request is being processed under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). I will endeavour to respond to you as soon as possible and in any event by 8th January 2018.

For the avoidance of doubt, based on your most recent email I have taken your request to now read as follows:

Can you please provide me with detailed statistics on the number of trains which have been delayed or cancelled from Uddingston to Glasgow Central in both directions on weekday mornings from 7am to 9am, weekday early evenings from 4pm to 6pm, and all day on weekends and public holidays, from 12th November 2016 to 12th November 2017, along with reasons for these delays and cancellations? Please also include trains which were delayed or cancelled before they reached Uddingston.

Can you also provide information on the reason why the trains which run from Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow through Uddingston in both directions are often so over crowded that passengers cannot board and if any plans are in place to improve this situation?

I hope that this interpretation of your request is correct, but please do let me know as soon as possible if I have misunderstood this in any way.

On occasion we may need to consult with third parties about requests, in line with the recommendations in the Code of Practice issued by the then Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs.
