Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear Health and Safety Executive,

I write to ask for the number of patient fatal falls in hospitals between 2007-2015 (England only) and also require the number of HSE prosecutions in relation to fatal falls within that same period.

Yours faithfully,

Sue Whyte

Dear Health and Safety Executive,

Thank you for your response. Could you confirm that the total include all fatal fatalities for last 9 years (inc. the four recent cases at Midstaffs hospital)

Yours faithfully,

Sue Whyte

Dear Ms Whyte

I have checked with our Business Intelligence Team who provided the figures that I originally supplied to you and can advise that the figures I provided to you include two fatalities that related to deaths that occurred at the Mid Staffs Hospital Trust. Through an additional check of our data I can advise that there were another two fatalities that occurred at the Cannock Community Hospital (part of Mid Staffs) and were excluded from the original data as they were classified under a different (SIC) 86900 – ‘Other Human Health Activities’

The original response to your question defined Hospitals using 2007 Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) 86101 – ‘Hospital Activities’

I have attached a guide to the 2007 Standard Industrial Classification that we use to define industry sectors that I hope you find helpful.

Regards

Robbie
