The Serious crime Act 2015 received Royal Assent on 3 March 2015
and coercive control became a criminal offence as of 29 December
2015.

This request is being made of all 43 police forces.

1. Since the 29 December 2015 and 31 January 2016, how many
incidents of coercive control have been formally recorded as
crimes.

2. Of those recorded crimes, what was the disposal of each case
e.g. Charge, Caution, No Further action etc.

I regret to inform you that Cambridgeshire Constabulary will not be able to issue a response to your request within 20 working days.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (The Act) requires us to handle all
requests in a manner that is blind to the identity of the requestor.  Any
information released in response to a request is regarded as being
published, and therefore in the public domain without caveat.

 

Request

 

The Serious crime Act 2015 received Royal Assent on 3 March 2015 and
coercive control became a criminal offence as of 29 December 2015.

    

This request is being made of all 43 police forces.

We have completed all searches within Cambridgeshire Constabulary and
hereby enclose your response.

 

Response

 

1. In the period 29 December 2015 – 31 January 2016, one crime was raised
for offence code 8/67 - Engage in controlling/coercive behaviour in an
intimate/family relationship.

 

2. That crime was closed as outcome 15 – Evidential difficulties prevent
further action: victim supports police action.
