Throughout this challenging time the University has continually worked to provide online resources to support staff to cope with the changing circumstances. Supporting our staff and student’s mental health and wellbeing is a strategic priority for the University and we are working in partnership with the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) on a range of initiatives to ensure we build the capacity of staff to support students affected by mental health conditions, increase the emotional resilience of staff and students, as well as supporting GCU to establish a mentally healthy community across its campus.

Examples of the resources developed and for staff and line managers include:
• Access for staff to contact our Occupational Health (external) provider PAM Assist to arrange confidential consultation on a wide range of topics.
• Confidential counselling services for staff to access through our Employee Assistance Programme (external trained health professionals).
• A dedicated Coronavirus Wellbeing Support and Resource webpage covering a wide range on mental and physical health.
• Mental Health training offered to Line Managers through SAMH to better equip them to deal with their own mental health and resilience allowing them to support their staff and students.
• Safe Home working guidance.

Please find attached a review notice setting out the steps you may take if you are not satisfied with the response provided to your request.

Yours sincerely
Hazel Lauder
