Dear Customer,
It has come to our attention that the following requests for information
are outstanding:
Our Reference What Do They Know link
MFOI-013496 [1]Council income - a Freedom of Information
request to Medway Council - WhatDoTheyKnow
MFOI-013497 [2]Staff - a Freedom of Information request to
Medway Council - WhatDoTheyKnow
The council advised in emails of 10 August 2020 that these are not valid
requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000.
For a request to be valid, the requester must provide enough of their real
name to give anyone reading that request a reasonable indication of their
identity.
Section 8(1)(b) of the FOIA requires that a request for information must
include the real name of the requester.
If the requester;
· fails to provide a name;
· can’t be identified from the name provided (for example because they
have only used their first name or initials); or,
· is using an obvious pseudonym,
then their request won’t meet the requirements of section 8(1)(b) and will
be invalid.
Only providing a first name or surname in isolation, or a set of initials,
will not meet the requirements.
Until your full name has been provided these requests will not be
processed any further.
Yours sincerely,
