Dear Browne, Fiona,
Thank you for the letter you returned.
I am writing to request an internal review. I should also let you know that the information commissioner is now probing DoF for their refusal to give me this information and the suggestion that other departments should do the same.
Yours sincerely,
Shauna
Hi Fiona,
Please ignore that last message - it wasn't meant for you! But I do want to know how the department of health can't know how many staff it is short. Can you ask again please?
Yours sincerely,
Shauna
Ms Corr
As previously provided in response to this FOI, information on all
vacancies actively being recruited for in Health and Social Care (HSC) is
published quarterly on the Department of Health website at
[1]https://www.health-ni.gov.uk/articles/st...
The most recent vacancy data published now relates to the position at 31
March 2019 and includes a more detailed breakdown than before.
Can I ask you to please clarify what information we have not provided and
we will try to assist you.
Regards.
Fiona
Dear Browne, Fiona,
The number of positions being recruited for is not the same as the number of actual vacancies across health.
This just means the jobs that are up for for grabs at a single point in time.
I am sure the department of health have done some number crunching on what they are short on nurses, doctors, midwives, physios etc - can you provide those details please?
Yours sincerely,
Shauna
Ms Corr
Information on the number of vacancies is published on the Department of
Health website at
[1]https://www.health-ni.gov.uk/articles/st... This
information is based on a definition which is regionally agreed between
HSC Trusts and the Department as that which is readily reportable from the
recruitment system. This is the definition we use to collect information
on vacancies from HSC organisations.
Regards
Joanne
Dear Department of Health (Northern Ireland),
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Department of Health (Northern Ireland)'s handling of my FOI request 'Staff'.
I have been trying to find numbers of actual vacancies the department of health has - and not the number of positions it is recruiting for, for some time.
Those dealing with this request continuously reply with the same answer.
Now the request is seriously outside the legal time to provide the information and we are no further forward.
Could I have an answer to the actual question I have asked please and not the one staff appear to have made up for me?
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/s...
Yours faithfully,

Do you have the reference number of the request on which you are seeking an internal review?
