Barrie McQuillan, Belfast City Council

Dear Akwesi,

Thank you for your email dated 25^th July 2022 requesting, under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000, information on mayoral cars.

I can confirm that Belfast City Council holds the information you have
requested and has decided that it can be disclosed into the public
domain.  Accordingly, I can advise that the Council has a vehicle for use
on official business by the Lord Mayor.  This vehicle has not been
purchased by the Council but is leased.  The information you have
requested, in relation to the costs associated with the vehicles, is
detailed in the table below

*BMW 7 Series replaced by Audi E-Tron (Nov 2021)

*Audi E-Tron is an electric vehicle. This supply is not metered
separately, therefore no fuel cost is available.

With regard to ‘The cost of insuring each vehicle since 2018?’, I should
advise that the vehicle is insured corporately and we are not able to
provide itemised vehicle costs.  Regarding ‘the costs of any parking fees
and / or fines / PCNs issued to each vehicle since 2018?’ I can confirm
there has been one such charge of £30.00 during this period.  The vehicle
is used on average 5 days per week and its primary function is transport
the Lord Mayor.

Please note that if this information is to be published it should be
attributed to being Belfast City Council’s response to a freedom of
information request.

If you are dissatisfied with how the Council handled your request for
information, you have the right to request that the Council formally
review this decision. If you wish to do so, please write to the Records
Manager, Information Governance Unit, Legal and Civic Services, Belfast

Requests for an independent review should be made in writing to: The

SK9 5AF.  However, I would advise you that the Information Commissioner
has indicated that a review will not be undertaken unless the Council has
first had an opportunity to re-consider its decision.
