Speed enforcement in 2021 by speed limit
Dear Dyfed Powys Police,
Please provide the total number of speed limit offences sanctioned in 2021 by speed limit. This should include both camera and non camera detected. We are keen to understand on which roads (low speed limit vs high) speed enforcement is being undertaken.
Yours sincerely,
Amy Aeron-Thomas
Good afternoon,
Reference No: 434.2022
Thank you for your request for information concerning speed limit
sanctions.
Dyfed-Powys Police acknowledge receipt of your request which is being
processed under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 however, prior to
processing the request please would you clarify
Do you wish to know the number of individuals stopped by an officer and
issued with a Traffic Offence Report for a speeding offence for the
calendar year of 2021? Unfortunately we are unable to provide figures
relating to individuals caught speeding by a fixed or mobile speed camera
device as this information is held by the Safety Camera Partnership in
Pontypridd who deal with these type of offences.
I note that you have stated that you are keen to understand on which roads
(low speed limit vs high) speed enforcement is being undertaken. Do you
wish to know the locations of these speeding offences and the speed
recorded?
After receiving the clarification, your request will then be considered
and you will receive a response within the statutory timescale of 40
working days as defined by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, subject to
the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third
party. If we do not receive clarification from you within 40 working days,
then your request will be closed.
There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of
the information you request. If this is the case you will be informed and
the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment
from you. If you chose not to make a payment then your request will remain
unanswered.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in
Dyfed-Powys Police and look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely,
Rhian Lewis

Dear Lewis Rhian,
I was asking for the speed limit offence data that would be published by the Home Office later in the year but by speed limit. The HOme Office does note that camera data from Dyfed-Powys, Gwent and South Wales is all reported by South Wales and they are not able to give the data for each police service separately. I was hoping this data would be available at the police service.
I would have thought this data would be wanted by local police and road safety professionals and sorry it is not thought worth providing. Thank you for trying. Please consider this request closed.
Yours sincerely,
Amy Aeron-Thomas
