Special Guardianship Order allowance calculations
Dear Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council,
I would be grateful if you could outline in detail how financial allowances are calculated for those caring for children who are the subject of a Special Guardianship Order, specifically:
- What is the maximum core allowance and how is this fixed?
- How is a lesser allowance calculated, i.e. does it decrease as a percentage or is it within bands of disposable income?
- What income is excluded for the purposes of the assessment?
- What expenditure is excluded for the purposes of the assessment?
- What is the threshold above which no allowance is paid?
Yours faithfully,
Chris MacDonald
Good morning Chris,
