1. Is it possible, please to have a copy of Solicitors Practice Rules 1990? It is not possible to download it from SRA site as it gets stuck at 268.24 KB.

2. Please, provide a copy of 2007 Rules that followed it?

Dear Dr Bright

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the Solicitors' Practice Rules
1990. Your query has been passed to me from our Information Compliance
Team.

I am pleased to confirm that I have been able to download the Solicitors'
Practice Rules 1990. Could you please confirm if you would like me to
email it to you (and whether this email address is convenient). Or
alternatively if you would like me to post the documents to you, please
could you confirm the full postal address?

I can also confirm that the Code of Conduct 2007 replaced the Solicitors'
Practice Rules 1990. Again, I can either email a pdf document to you or
put a copy in the post.

If you require anything further, please contact me on my direct dial 01527
512969.

Yours sincerely

Dear Dr Bright

Thank you for your reply.

I have attached to this email a copy of the Solicitors Practice Rules

I will send the Code of Conduct on separate emails due to its size. There
is a separate pdf for each Rule of the Code of Conduct and will follow in
a further 5 emails. I have decided to send 5 emails to ensure that the
file size is not too great to reach you.

The 5 emails are entitled `Code of Conduct - Email 1 of 5' etc.

Email 1 contains the Preamble to the Code of Conduct and Rules 1-5
(inclusive)

Email 2 contains Rules 6-11 (inclusive)

Email 3 contains Rules 12-17 (inclusive)

Email 4 contains Rules 18-23 (inclusive)

Email 5 contains Rules 24-25 (inclusive), the SRA Recognised Bodies
Regulations 2009 and the Index to the Code of Conduct

Should you not receive any or all of the above, please do let me know.

Dear Contactcentre,

Is it possible to have just a scanned copy of old rule 16 from Solicitors' Practise Rules 1990?

I do not need the updated versions from 2007.

Yours sincerely,

Helen Bright

Contactcentre, Solicitors Regulation Authority

Dear Dr Bright,

Thank you for your e-mail dated 14 May 2012.

I confirm that having spoken to our Professional Ethics department on your
behalf,  I would initially direct you to the Law Society library as the
scanned copy you require is from an archived document.

Professional Ethics were a little unsure whether a fee would be involved
so you may wish to check with first by contacting their e-mail address
[1][email address]

I hope this is helpful.

If you have any further queries that you would like to discuss, please
contact us by telephone on 0870 606 2555. Our lines are open 09.00 to
17.00 Monday to Friday. If you are calling from overseas please use +44
(0) 1527 504450. Please note calls may be monitored/recorded for training
purposes. Alternatively you can e-mail us on [2][email address]

Thank you for contacting the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

Dear Solicitors Regulation Authority,

Is it possible, please to have a copy of old 1990 Practice rules NOT AMENDED. Please, treat this as "FOIA" request although I realize SRA is not listed in Schedule 1 of FOIA 2000 and the compliance is voluntary.

Law Society Library would have it, I imagine as would SRA. I understand no charges would apply to this.

Yours faithfully,

Helen Bright

Dear Solicitors Regulation Authority,

Is it possible, please, to send me the photocopy of rule 16 of the unamended Solicitors Practice Rules 1990.

Yours faithfully,

Helen Bright

Joao Curro,

Dear Dr Bright
