Are solicitors required to safeguard and only use data where lawfully allowed to do so.

How many complaints have you received and what actions have you taken.

We write further to your e-mail of 19 February 2021. Please note that the
Tribunal is not subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 however we
will try to answer your questions as best as we can.

 

We do not have information regarding the number of cases of who have been
struck off for failing to abide by the DPA 2018 and the GDPR however all
judgments are available on our website. Also on our website are the
Tribunal’s annual reports which contain information regarding the number
of strike off orders made each year.   

 

With respect to your remaining questions, the Tribunal is impartial and
independent and we are not able to provide any legal advice, however, you
may wish to approach the Regulator, the Solicitors Regulation Authority,
who may be able to provide you with the answers you seek.
