'SIEBEL' - and the systems used for managing Spectrum and other Ofcom business

The request was partially successful.

Dear Office of Communications,

In the ICO's decision notice ( http://bit.ly/1mjEl46 ), a system named 'SIEBEL' is referenced. I would like to request details of the 'SIEBEL' system as it is used by Ofcom for spectrum complaints, namely:-

- The details of the server or operating system(s) on which it is run
- The software version
- Date of purchase (if applicable)
- The name of the supplier (if applicable)
- The names of any products needed to support this system that are separate (in terms of purchase or license) to it. For example a database or a storage solution.
- The list of fields available for use in spectrum cases and if available their descriptions and maximum lengths.
- The amount of data held on this system, please split into character information and image data.
- Where images are saved into this system, please provide samples of the blank templates/forms that are scanned.

If this software is used by multiple departments, please also provide a list of those departments along with the date and time it was last accessed by them prior to 00:01 on the 22nd September 2014.

Please not that if this system is no longer used, please provide the information above for its replacement and the date it was replaced.

Yours faithfully,
Mark Salter

Dear Office of Communications,

Thank you for this response and the 'observations' it contains.

You might care to take a note that I have no interest at all in "amateur (hobby radio)". I must share though that it is nice to see you can retain and retrieve data going back more than a few months when 'needed'.
I thought I would also mention that in handling FOIA requests it is "Request not requester" that is important.

Where you fail to meet all guidance of the ICO or indeed where I am requested to make an internal review by the ICO I will continue to do so.

Thanks again for what appears to be a substantial response. I will be going through the detail it holds as soon as I have some time to do so.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Salter
