complaintsandinformation, Enfield Council

Dear Mr Jenyo

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request of 8^th May 2019. Please
find the response to your request below. My sincere apologies for the
delay in sending this information to you.

Response

 1. How many sheltered housing and extra care units are there in the
borough?

There are 791 units of Sheltered Housing owned and managed by Enfield
Council across the Borough.

There are 91 units of Extra Care Housing in the Borough.

 2. How many sheltered housing and extra care blocks of flats are there in
the borough?

There are 26 Sheltered Housing Schemes owned and managed by Enfield
Council across the Borough

There are 2 Extra Care Housing Schemes in the Borough.

Skinners Court (48 Flats) is owned by Skinners Company and the housing
management side is managed by AnchorHanover Group and the Care Provider is
North London Home Care. Enfield Council has 75% of the nomination rights
for Skinners Court.

Alcazar Court (43 Flats) is owned and managed by Clarion Housing Group and
the Care Provider is North London Home Care.

Enfield Council has 100% of the nomination rights for Alcazar Court

 3. Of these available units (referring to question 1), what are the
[current] void rates?

Since the 1st April 2019 Enfield Council has re-let 13 Sheltered Housing
units however void properties are dependent on tenancies being terminated
due to residents going into residential/nursing care or sadly passing
away.

For Extra Care -  From 1^st April 2019 there are been 2 void properties at
Skinners Court and nominations have been sent to AnchorHanover Group from
the Extra Care waiting list.

For Alcazar Court there has been one void property and a nomination has
been sent to Clarion Housing Group from the Extra Care waiting list

 4. Of the current blocks of flats (referring to question 2), how many of
the blocks are [currently] void/vacant?

Current there is only one Sheltered Housing Scheme which is due to close.

For Extra Care –  None

 5. How many units are ‘fit for purpose’ (referring to question 1)? i.e.
meet the needs of the group they purport to serve?

Enfield Council's Sheltered Housing service is currently being reviewed
which will look at those schemes which are no longer fit for purpose for
older people. This information is therefore currently not held.

Both the Extra Care Schemes are fit for purpose as they were built as
Extra Care Schemes.
