Manchester City Council on 24 December 2013 and has been considered under
the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

In response to your request.

1.Do you currently have any shared services within Social Care with other/s
Local Authorities? If yes, please state with who and what areas e:g
Children’s, Adults etc…

Manchester City Council operates a range of joint services with other
local authorities including the following:
Independent Complaints Advocacy Service for NHS services - jointly
commissioned with 9 Greater Manchester Authorities (minus Stockport)
and Blackburn with Darwen Council
North West Foster Care Framework for looked after children - jointly
commissioned with the majority of North West local authorites, led by
Manchester, Liverpool and Trafford Councils.
North West Care Homes Framework for looked after children - jointly
commissioned with the majority of North West local authorites.
Mental Health Care Homes Framework for adults - jointly commissioned with
Tameside and Salford Councils.

2. Please describe your plans with joint working between Social Care and
Health.

Our plans for joint working which were agreed by the Health and Wellbeing
Board on 6 November 2013. are attached. These are in the public domain and
the name for our local programme of Health and Social care integration is
"Living Longer, Living Better"
