Dear Devon and Cornwall Constabulary,

1) How many sexual misconduct claims have been made against members of your police force over the last four years (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 so far), with a breakdown for each year. By sexual misconduct I mean: Rape, Sexual assault, Sexual harassment or Sexual misconduct.

Please also break this down by claims made against a) police officers and b) police staff

Please say whether the complaint was made by a) member of the public b) police officer/ member of staff

I would also be grateful if you could indicate the seniority of the staff member eg if a police officer, are they a sergeant/ chief inspector/ superintendent

2) Of the complaints per year, how many were made against a) men and how many against b) women. Please break this down by year and also by claims made against a) police officers and b) police staff

3) What outcome/decisions were taken as a result of each these complaints/claims. Please break this down by year and by outcome for a) police officer and b) police staff

I write in connection with your request for a review of the handling
and/or decision relating to 01/FOI/21/018741 which was received by the
Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) on 10/05/2021.   

 

A review will now be conducted in accordance with the Code of Practice
issued under Section 45 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act).
 The reviewing officer will reconsider the original request before
responding to you with their findings.

 

There is no statutory time limit in relation to the completion of an
Internal Review.  However, the MPS aim to complete Internal Reviews within
20 working days or in exceptional cases, within 40 working days.  This is
based upon guidance published by the Information Commissioner.

 

If it is not possible to complete the Internal Review within this
timescale you will be informed at the earliest opportunity. 

 

If you are unhappy with the outcome of an Internal Review you may wish to
