Service Delivery into Schools

The request was successful.

Dear North Tyneside Borough Council,

I would like to understand more about the service delivery into schools for the region;

* Have you suffered any redundancy of support staff in the last 3 years?
* How many engineers/technicians do you have supporting schools in the region?
* How much is the authorities spend (per month)on petrol for the engineers?
* On average, how much time per month (per engineer) is spent on a typical school site?
* What technologies do you use to remotely deliver services to schools?
* How many schools / devices do you support? Both for Admin & Curriculum support services.
* Is the authority looking at carbon reduction?
* Is having green schools important to you?
* Would schools be interested in saving money on energy consumption?
* What % of your tasks are currently automated? Would you like to automate a higher %?
* What Curriculum services do you provide? Break & Fix? Ranking (i.e. Gold, Silver or Bronze)?
* What does your support package look like? I.e. number of on-site visits, telephone support etc
* What audit information do you have on your schools environment?
* Who is responsible for schools’ ICT service delivery?
* What do the corporate team use for desktop management?
* Is the education team under threat from provide service providers? If so, who?

Yours faithfully,

M Bland

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

In all further correspondence please quote our reference RFI 3941

I am writing regarding your recent request for information. Unfortunately
we are unable to process your request because clarification is required.

The council's Children, Young People and Learning (CYPL) service has
stated that the request is too vague to be able to respond.

For example, what sort of engineer is referred to? Similarly, "support
staff" - what posts are specifically referred to here as this covers a
very wide range of posts. What specific tasks is the Q 10 referring to re
automation?

Please note that the 20 working day timescale for responding to your
request is suspended until we have received further information.

Once you have provided clarification the 20 working day timescale will
resume and your request will then be considered and you will receive the
information requested, subject to the application of any exemptions that
might apply.

If you have any queries in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact
me.

- Any technicians/engineers that have any involvement with schools ICT equipment, whether they be internally or externally based.

(What specific tasks is the Q 10 referring to re
automation?)

- Auditing and asset management of school ICT environments, power management, software patching, new software rollouts or upgrades and device configuration.

I hope that helps with your investigation.

Yours sincerely,
