As part of your trusts clinical response to emergency department sepsis presentations; could you clarify whether antibiotics are administered under Patient group directives (PGD) or prescription only?

Currently no antibiotics are administered under PGD.

Thank you for your request for information. I apologise for the late response. Organisational and staff changes have led to some requests being overlooked and I am sorry for the inconvenience you will undoubtedly have been caused.
Wye Valley NHS Trust responds that currently no antibiotics are administered under PGD but we are developing PGD for amoxicillin and gentamicin to be given.
