Information Rights, Nottingham City Council

Dear Requester

On the 17 July 2018 Nottingham City Council received the following Freedom
of Information request from you:

Please provide the following information with regard to the Selective
licensing scheme:

1. Budgets for the  scheme from time of scheme creation to such point as
forecasts have presently been made

2. The posts, number of persons expected to be employed in each post and
the salary band for each.

3. The councils costs of activity's relating to the private rental sector
for each of the 3 previous financial years

4. The councils budgets for any activity relating to private rental sector
outside of  the selective licencing scheme for the previous, next and
current financial year.

The council have reviewed your request carefully, in accordance with
section 1(3) of the Act in its current form parts of your request are
considered to be unclear or ambiguous. The council has a duty under
section 16(1) of the Act to provide advice and assistance, as far as is
reasonable to do so, before the council can consider your request we will
require some clarification from you.

Regarding questions 3 and 4 it is unclear what costs information you
require relating to the private rental sector. The council does not split
its budget or spend specifically into private rented properties, some
services will cover other housing. So for question 3 do you therefore
require 3 years of actual costs for Safer Housing, Additional Licensing
and Mandatory Licensing? If so this may include costs not solely
associated to private rented properties. And for question 4 the budgets
for Safer Housing, Additional Licensing and Mandatory Licensing? If so
this may include budgets not solely associated to private rented
properties

Further information regarding licensing can be found here:

[2]https://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/housin...

And Safer Housing here:

The council is under no further obligation to respond to these parts of
your request until your clarification has been provided. Please note these
parts your request have been closed, upon receipt of your clarified
request a new reference number and 20 working day time limit will be
applied the next working day after the council receives your
clarification.

The statutory deadline for the rest of your request that the council do
not require clarification for will remain as 14 August 2018.

The council trust the above is clear but if you have any questions please
do not hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Information Rights,

I am concluding from your response that Safer Housing, Additional Licensing and Mandatory Licensing are not budgeted or spend reported separate from private rented.
Therefore as you propose please answer questions 3 & 4 in relation to the combination of all of the above property types/Schemes.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Mellors

Information Rights, Nottingham City Council

Thank you for your clarification, we have adjusted questions 3 and 4 to:

3. The councils costs of activity's relating to Safer Housing, Additional Licensing and Mandatory Licensing for each of the 3 previous financial years

4. The councils budgets for Safer Housing, Additional Licensing and Mandatory Licensing for the previous, next and current financial year.
