according to UCL's GCSE scoring system, if not applicable, I would like to

3. I would like to know the total number of successful medicine
applicants, and:

a) How many A levels a successful applicant has on average

b) The average GCSE grade (1-9)  (for years that are applicable) a
successful applicant has on average

c) The average number of A*s at A level a successful applicant has on
average

4. I would like to know how are applicants ranked in the process of a
selection for an interview, and I would like a copy of an interview and/or
application score sheet if available

5. I would like to know the average bmat score for each section, for
interviewed applicants  for 2016/2017, 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 admission

to study medicine at UCL, regardless of whether they accept or reject the
offer.

You asked:

Our response:

 1. Candidates must fulfil minimum GCSE Maths and English Language
requirements in order to be eligible for consideration. Otherwise,
there are no GCSE cut off scores.

Technically, this information is exempt information on the basis of the
following FOIA exemption: s.21 - information accessible to applicant by

 2. UCL does not have a GCSE scoring system. We do not count the number of
9 or A* grades a candidate has achieved. We do not score GCSE grades
as Above average, Average or Below average. We are therefore unable to
respond to question 2.

 3. The GCSE results do not have grading 1-9 – they are still in grading
A*, A, B, C, etc. and we are therefore unable to respond to part (c)
of question 3. The responses to parts (a) and (b) are set out below:
