I am writing in response to your request dated 29 August 2012 in which you
asked for information about Kirklees School Supply Spend between 1^st
September 2011 and 31^st August 2012.
This has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
The Council’s response to your specific questions is set out below:
1. The amount spent on temporary or external teaching agency staff
The Council does not keep a comprehensive central record of costs and
which agencies schools source supply staff from as this is sourced
directly by each school. The costs that are recorded centrally from
schools via the Council’s insurance scheme between 1^st September 2011 and
31^st August 2012 are as follows:
· Kirklees Supply Service = £2,400,585
· External = £4,075,003
This does not include any expenditure schools may make on an individual
basis that is not re-claimed centrally.
2. The agencies the school have used for the provision of these
