School spend on supply

The request was partially successful.

Dear Norfolk County Council,

I am interested in the amounts paid by each school in Norfolk to third parties in relation to temporary staffing cover. My hope is to receive an electronic breakdown of amounts paid through the department's purchase ledger by school.

I would like the information in electronic format to avoid printing costs and ideally the information required by schools is: school name, supplier name, amount paid.

Please could I have the information for the years 2007-08 and 2008-09.

Many thanks,
Yours faithfully,

Sarah Mitchell

Dear Sharp, Deirdre,

Thank you for responding to my request for amounts spent by school on Teaching Supply, however, unfortunatley, the information you provided doesn't give details of the amounts of money spent as requested.

I would appreciate this information if available.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Mitchell

Our refusal was based on the grounds that we did not hold the

Dear Ms Mitchell,

The investigation in the light of your appeal, about which I wrote
yesterday, has been completed.

As I indicated in my message, we did not supply information in response to
your request because we did not hold the information requested

Our refusal was based on the grounds that we did not hold the information
requested. However some further explanation as to why that is, is merited.

The position in Norfolk is as follows:

Schools source and pay for their own supply teachers.
This council operates a service to schools whereby we assist schools in
finding a supply teacher .Schools are free to choose as to whether they
use this service, or commission another agency to do this work, e.g. a
commercial agency, or devise their own methods for meeting temporary
staffing needs, e.g. by maintaining. their own list of supply teachers
that they use. I

In all instances each school deals with recruitment and payments and holds
this information itself.
This concludes our internal review process in this case. If you are
dissatisfied after pursuing the complaints procedure, you may apply to the
Information Commissioner under Section 50 of the Act for a decision
whether your request for information has been dealt with in accordance
with the requirements of Part I of the Act. Contact details as follows:-
