Enquiry ref: 12679-21

I acknowledge receipt of your enquiry received by this office on 4th March.

As set out by the Freedom of Information Act it will be our aim to respond to your request by 6th April. In some cases, however, we may be unable to achieve this deadline and would hope to contact you should this be the case.

Please note the ‘working day’ is defined as any day other than a Saturday, Sunday or a day which is a bank holiday in any part of the United Kingdom. The first reckonable day is the first working day after receipt.

Freedom of Information, Cleveland Police

Dear Mr Jackson,

Enquiry Ref: 12679/2021

I write in connection with your request for information dated 4^th March
2021 and received by this office on that date.  Please accept our
apologies for the delay in replying, your patience is appreciated.  Below
are the questions raised in your request and all of the information we
have been able to retrieve.

Under the freedom of information act, I write to request the number of
hours volunteered by each of your

Special Constabulary senior officers in 2020, namely any officer of the
following rank, or your force's

equivalent:

- S/Chief Officer

- S/Deputy Chief Officer

- S/Assistant Chief Officer

- S/Chief Superintendent

- S/Superintendent

- S/Chief Inspector

Where your systems permit, for each officer I would appreciate, both the
amount of operational (frontline) and non-operational (meetings etc.)
hours completed.

a) Following enquiries within the Force we can advise you that “The
Special Chief Officer does not record hours, it not being proportionate to
do so recognising the nature of the role and a number of volunteer hours
being provided by way of a number of administration, telephone calls and
meetings”.  Additionally Cleveland Police Special Constabulary do not have
deputy CO or S/C/Supt ranks. We had 2 chief inspector ranks during 2020
and these are shown as North and/or South in the tables below.
