Savay Lake, Colne Valley
Dear Environment Agency,
HS2 are currently pile driving constructing a haul road across Savay Lake in the Colne Valley. Savay Lake was a renowned Carp fishery. What happened to the fish in the lake?
Yours faithfully,
Marrk Keir
Hello Mr. Keir,
Thank you for your email. I work for the Fisheries team covering
Hertfordshire and North London.
To the best of my knowledge no fish were removed from Savay in relation to
HS2, as we have not received any applications for a permit to carry out
such a removal.
I understand Savay Lake continues to be run as an exclusive syndicate
water.
Kind regards,
Martin

Dear Martin,
Thank you for your response. I have to say I find your answer troublesome. I understood assurances were made by HS2 to Parliament, I may be mistaken. But the lake is currently a building site and no place for fish, nor birds, nor anglers.
Yours sincerely,
Marrk Keir
