Sales and Acquisitions over the last 10 years

Roedd y cais yn rhannol lwyddiannus.

Dear Arts Council England,

Please provide the following information.

A list of all the individual pieces of art in your national portfolio acquired over the last 20 years.
A list of all the individual pieces of art in your national portfolio sold over the last 20 years.

Please organise this with the following categories in columns:

-Date of acquisition
-Date(s) or if necessary estimated date(s) of creation
-Artist
-Name of piece
-Sale price (If applicable)
-Acquisition price (If applicable)
-Seller (If applicable)
-Purchaser (If applicable)
-Sales Agent

Please could I have this documentation in excel format (which I believe would be easiest).

If this information needs to be collated and it would be quicker and cheaper, please instead provide all relevant excel documents that specifically mention the sales and acquisitions of individual pieces for the national portfolio over the last 20 years that you currently have in your possession.

Yours faithfully,
S.H. Crozier

Our Response:

The Arts Council Collection is administered by Southbank Centre and so I
am afraid that Arts Council England does not hold the level of detail
about acquisitions and sales that you require.

Much of the information you are seeking is already publicly available
online via the Arts Council Collection website and further details can be
obtained by contacting the Southbank Centre directly. I have included some
links to the site and contact information below which I hope that you will
find helpful.

You can access a list of all individual pieces of art in the Arts Council
Collection via the following link:
[1]www.artscouncilcollection.org.uk/collection

Details of acquisitions are available by the following link:

I would recommend contacting the Southbank Centre curatorial team to make
enquiries regarding possible sales. Contact information for the team is
available here: [3]www.artscouncilcollection.org.uk/contact-us

I am sorry that we have not been able to supply the information you
require directly, but I hope that the links for the Arts Council
Collection website and the Southbank Centre will be helpful.

We hope you are satisfied with the way in which we have dealt with your
request for information under the Freedom of Information Act, however, if
you are not satisfied that this is the case then you are entitled to an
internal review.  If you do wish for an internal review of the manner in
which we have applied the Freedom of Information Act in this case, please
contact me at the address above, within two months of the date of this
correspondence, explaining what specifically you would like us to review
under the Act.  Alternatively you can detail your specific concerns in
writing and send them to the Chief Executive, Arts Council England, 21
Bloomsbury Street, London, WC1B 3HF or email to
[4][email address]

Subsequently, if you are not content with the outcome of the internal
review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information
Commissioner for a decision.  The Information Commissioner can be
contacted at Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water
Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Kind regards
