Safety Checks Following the Grenfell Tower fire - Responses to DCLG Request for Information

Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear Cambridge City Council,

On the 18th of June 2017 a letter from the DCLG* asked all local authorities and registered providers of social housing to complete a "New Build and Refurbished Building Information Check List" and submit at least parts of it to the DCLG by the 19th of June.

I am requesting the release of the information submitted so far to the DCLG in response to this letter.

I would like to suggest the council pro-actively release any further material it submits as it becomes available.

I'm interested in how the council have interpreted the request, and if they've included all properties in the city, or just those they own.

I'm concerned private flats, student accommodation and hotels are excluded from the review.

Thank you for your request for information above, which we have dealt with
under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I hope the following will answer your query:

* We initially identified to DCLG that we had ONE tower block at Hanover
Court, with no cladding, and two five storey blocks (Princess and
Kingsway) with none

* Their request was clarified to identify tower blocks (over six
storeys) with ACM cladding

* We realised that we had failed to identify Scholars court – new build.
We identified this to DCLG, informed them we would be doing tests on
the cladding and wrote to residents

* On further inspection, the cladding is of a type that does not
currently require testing by government. We have informed residents.

We aim to provide a high quality service to you and hope that you are
satisfied with this response. If you have any further questions please
do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely
