Dear Mr Vieira

TfL Ref:          FOI-0872-1213

Thank you for your e-mail received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24
August 2012 asking for information about London Buses rules and
procedures.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and TfL’s information access policy. I can
confirm TfL holds some of the information you require. You asked:

1.    I am hereby requesting Rules & Regulations and Code of Conduct for 2
way Radio [IBUS] Operators [Controllers]

2.    Rules & Regulations procedures for implementation of headway's for
Buses

3.    Contractual Service Requirements for Curtailments, maintaining
headway's and Public Service Requirements

There are no set rules and regulations stipulated by TfL contractually
regarding the exact manner in which Service Controller’s maintain headways
and regulate the route. Any disciplinary or performance concerns regarding
Route Controllers would be a responsibility for the operator as their
employer to handle.

However, all Service Controllers / Route Controllers are expected to
complete a BTEC training course to ensure that they are operating to TfL’s
guidelines whilst doing their job. Please see the attached documents for
info.

4.    Rules and Regulation concerning driver's Type Training

Please see the attached extract from the BTEC Guidance Material for
Drivers which details the training drivers undertake.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for some reason, please feel free to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal.

Yours sincerely

Gemma Jacob
