Nigel Adams, Cotswold District Council

Dear Sir/Madam

I refer to your request dated 24^th November 2016.

From what I am able to ascertain, Cotswold District Council is not the
subject of any Royal Charter; having been formed on 1st April 1974 by the
merger of the following former authorities - Cirencester Urban District,
Cirencester Rural District, North Cotswold Rural District, Northleach
Rural District and Tetbury Rural District.  The enabling legislation was
the Local Government Act 1972.

Please let me know if you require anything further.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
request and wish to make a complaint, you should write to The Monitoring
Officer, Cotswold District Council, Trinity Road, Cirencester,
Gloucestershire, GL7 1PX.

If, subsequently, you are not content with the outcome of your complaint,
you may apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.
Generally, the Information Commissioner cannot make a decision unless you
have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the Council.  The
Information Commissioner can be contacted at: The Information
Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9
5AF.

Yours sincerely

Nigel Adams
