Routes and stations that have Driver Controlled Operation

Doug Paulley made this Freedom of Information request to Rail Safety and Standards Board
This authority is not subject to FOI law, so is not legally obliged to respond (details).
This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

Rail Safety and Standards Board did not have the information requested.

Dear Rail Safety and Standards Board,

I should be very grateful if you could please provide me with information as to routes and stations at which Driver Controlled Operation is in use.

In particular, I wonder if you could please provide me with the following data:

1) A list of each station at which some or all services calling at that station operate under Driver Controlled Operation

2) A list of routes on which some or all services on that route are operated using Driver Controlled Operation.

I am assuming you have such data as you created this map: https://www.rssb.co.uk/PublishingImages/... and a similar one for Glasgow. I would like more granular information than is provided on that map.

If you don't have the precise information I am requesting, please advise what related data you do have; similarly if you think another organisation may be better placed to provide this data, please inform me.

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

Doug Paulley

Dear Doug ,

Thank you for your query.

The Rail Delivery Group should be able to supply you with this
information. The data that we used to create the map you mentioned in your
enquiry came from the Rail Delivery Group and Network Rail.

If you look at the map on our website and compare it to the National Rail
Network Map
([1]http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/static/doc...)
then you will be able to see a list of the Train Operators who run each
station across the UK. This may help you to find the correct Train
Operator to contact about a specific route. However, we advise that you
speak with RDG who should be able to provide most of the data you have
requested.

I believe that the above answers your query. If you require further help,
please let me know within 10 working days so that I can assist further
before this enquiry is closed.

Kind regards,

Claire
