Rochdale Market

The request was successful.

Dear Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council,

I understand that the operation of the 768 year old Rochdale Market was put out to tender in 2016/17. I would like to know the following please:

How the Market was managed previous to that process, e.g. by the Council or otherwise, if so who?

Who were the operators who tendered for the operation of the Market in the 2016/17 process?

What consultation took place with traders and their trade bodies in respect of that proposed change of operator, and were the traders in favour of the change?

Who was responsible for the design of the outdoor Market (gazebos)?

What efforts have been made by the Council to regenerate the Market after it took back control from Quarterbridge in Sep/Oct 2018?

What consultations have taken place with the traders and their trade bodies in respect of the closure of the Market as announced yesterday?

Yours faithfully,
Anne Nichols
