Dear Coventry City Council,

I recently noticed that the pedestrian crossing of the A429 Kenilworth Road at the Junction with Leamington Road near the War Memorial Park gates are currently out of order due to one of the masts being felled, apparently as consequence of a road traffic incident (RTI). I recall that previous RTIs at this very location have also led to damaged equipment. I now have the following questions, all concerning the past five years (2016-2021).

1) How many RTIs at this location (Junction Warwick Road, Kenilworth Road, Leamington Road) are you aware of?

1a) Please provide details of the incidents you are aware of (e.g. date, damage, cause).

2) At what cost was council property (traffic lights, flower beds, road signs etc) at this location reinstated or repaired during this period?

2a) How much of this cost was reclaimed from the persons responsible for the damage?

2b) If not all cost was reclaimed, why not?

3) Are there any plans to improve road safety at this junction?

Yours faithfully,

Peter Brommer
