Dear Birmingham City Council,
I was involved in an accident on 21st March 2017 at 6.45am in the morning. The accident happened on 87 Holyhead Road B21 0HH at the traffic lights between Crocketts Road and Sandwell Road, right outside Lloyds Pharmacy.
I would like to know whether there were any CCTV cameras at the traffic lights and how can I proceed in getting a footage of the same.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Dear Mr John
I am writing further to your request below requesting CCTV footage. This
request is not a Freedom of Information request, it is a request under the
‘Data Protection Act’.
Please note In accordance with the Data Protection Act, recorded images
are only normally retained for a period of 31 days, after which all CCTV
footage is automatically destroyed. Only on those occasions where images
are seized as evidence in prosecution proceedings are the recorded images
retained beyond this period.
You will need to contact your insurance company to make the request for
CCTV footage, as Birmingham City Council is not permitted to disclose
information relating to public space CCTV to individual members of the
public. All requests for footage must be made via the Police, a Solicitor
or insurance company.
